Skibrabnäs

Mission

Skibranäs mediates the rental of cottages from many different private cottage owners in the ski resort Branäs. We were given the task of creating a website that could present and market the various cottage options and also manage bookings. Previously, bookings had been handled through a general form, but this needed to be developed to facilitate administration.

Our services

  • holiday catalog
  • Reservation
  • special development
  • Optimized server

So we built the site

We started by building a new website that we over the years also rebuilt when newer technologies were available. The current page is built with Yootheme Pro and uses many different layout elements. In addition, we have built a specially developed booking system where you can see which cabins are available during which periods.

Each cottage also has its own place on the page with info, facts, pictures and vacations. In order for the site to go fast and be able to handle many visitors, we have also taken care of the hosting.

technologies

Optimized Ubuntu based web server

CentOS is a Linux distribution that provides a free, community-supported computing platform functionally compatible with its upstream source, Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Basically, the CentOS / Nginx web server

To run this project, we basically installed a web server on CentOS - which is our favorite OS! Instead of Apache we run here Nginx which is slightly better when there is a lot of traffic and visitors. PHP 7.3 and the latest MariaDB database provide a stable and reliable foundation.

Of course, the server has a backup to our backup servers so no information can be lost.

Results

The site has proven to be very effective and has also been continuously expanded with new smart features to help visitors quickly find a cabin that suits them. The site has also steadily increased the number of cottages and there will be more and more private cottage owners who want to join the system.
